Climbing into the cold water for the first time the heart starts to race, your skin screams in pain, you start to hyperventilate and the urge to jump straight out is uncontrollable…but what if you could control the urge to take flight, to stay calm, breathe normally and actually enjoy the sensation…?
On Thursday November 11th we invite you to join us here at Root for an introduction to kallbad and the breathing exercises you can use to enjoy the cold water this winter.
The evening will be hosted by Maria, our breathwork guide, and Dan, our resident cold water fantatic. Throughout the evening we will take guests through some of the science behind cold water exposure and why it feels so awesome. We will then run through three different breathing techniques you will be able to take away and practice at home / before you go into the cold water. Finally, we will all then take a candle-lit guided dip. Afterwards, we will all warm up inside with hot chocolate and gryta.
The evening will run from 6-7.30pm here at Root in Tavelsjö. As this is our first session, we are offering the evening for 400kr pp which will include everything including food and drink, and we’re offering it at this rate in return for feedback.
As always with cold water swimming, we absolutely advise anyone with any health conditions to check with their doctor first.
